How to Send Money

There are two ways to send money from abroad:

1. Over the counter

Step 1

Visit any convenient MoneyGram Locations with valid ID/ Passport

Step 2

Fill up simple “Send Form” giving details like beneficiary’s name, address

Step 3

Submit cash along with charges to the operator at the counter

Step 4

Collect a unique 8 digit money transfer code called “Reference Number” from the operator

Step 5

Inform the beneficiary in Nepal about the amount sent, reference number, sender/ receiver details and instruct him/her to go to any United Remit Locations in Nepal.

2. Send Money Online

Step 1

Visit www.moneygram.com and click “Send Money Online” button

Step 2

For new users, sign up for MoneyGram eMoney Transfer by clicking “Sign Up Now” first

Step 3

Sign in to the transfer site by using your MoneyGram ID and password used during initial sign up. Follow the process as guided by the site

Step 4

After completing the transaction, it will give you a unique 8 digit money transfer code called “Reference Number”

Step 5

Inform the beneficiary in Nepal about the amount sent, reference number, sender/ receiver details and instruct him/her to go to any United Remit Locations in Nepal.

Note: Online transfer applicable for Use of Credit/ Debit cards for online transfers may attract extra charges/ levy as per rules of that particular bank.
